Lippia EP Pitch
Hey everyone, in this post I'm going to be talking about an upcoming project that I'm working on which I'm really excited for. I'm going to be taking you through the foundations of the project and giving you a bit of an idea as to whats going to happen, how I plan to execute the project and what are we going to do after it's finished. Let's get into it.
For this project I will be recording a four track EP for a band called Lippia. They are a hard rock / metal band who are very talented and experienced for their age. They are a three piece utilising drums, bass, guitar and vocals. Sadly there are no physical recordings of their work so I can't show you right now, but hey, it just means that you might be surprised at the end.
So there are three phases to this project - planning, production and publication. So let's start at the top. (To actually view all of the documents I am going to mention, don't be afraid to follow the hyperlinks)
The planning stage is where most the work is done - I find that if you really push yourself here the whole project will run so much smoother. In regards to the planing stage, there are a lot of elements for example; the project plan, session plans, the schedule, file management and research. These are still in development so excuse any blanks.
The production stage is where I will be implementing all of the work I put into the planning stage. If you looked through the project plan you would have seen the locked in dates we will be recording, mixing and mastering on and which studios we will be using. At the end of the production stage we will have four finished songs but we won't have all of the deliverables just yet - for me a big part of this project is helping band get fully prepared for publication and distribution.
I've found in the past that sometimes you give bands really kick-ass recordings that they're really pumped about but because they don't have album art or are not sure how to get it on iTunes the moment sort of dies away and the EP or album doesn't amount to anything. So this time will be different. To combat the possibility of this happening I will be doing the following
1. Hooking them up with a graphic designer
2. Teaming up with film for a music video
3. Walking them through the iTunes publishing process
5. Ensuring their social media profiles are up to date and ready to advertise the release
4. Taking on a real 'Producer' role - coaching them and sculpting them to better succeed in the industry
So there you go. A quick little pitch regarding the next project I will eb working on - I hope this gave you some insight into the project and I hope you're as pumped as I am. These guys are really cool and I would have loved to be able to show you some of their stuff, but like I said, sadly there's no recordings or video's that are shareable just yet. Anyway, you can find updates about the project here on my blog and I'm glad you are coming along for what is looking to be one cool ride.

Until Next Time,
